Shrink when the delivery window slips
Shrink arrives in board packs as a single percentage, usually after stocktake, usually too late to change a habit. Weekly work cannot invent a stocktake. It can still catch the weeks when the delivery window slipped and the back door stayed on the latch.
We ask store managers for a delivery diary, even a messy one: planned slot, actual slot, cages left on the pavement, staff pulled from the shop floor to check in. Those notes sit beside waste and known theft incidents. They will not balance to the stocktake. They will explain why a unit is always in the bottom of the rank.
Food estates have a cleaner version of the same story: a fridge failure is an event with a date. Fashion estates have carton counts and alleged short deliveries. Either way, an estate percentage without a cause list trains the board to shrug.
Utilitycraftline will not promise a shrink target. We will keep the cause list short enough to read and specific enough that an area manager can visit the right door.
If your current pack only shows shrink at period-end, start with three shops and a delivery diary for four weeks. That is enough to see whether the Monday page should carry a flag at all.
